Front door detent spring



Like most Brougham repair projects, the profanity center of the brain will be well stimulated during the process.   

You will need to have the door fully open and then remove the upper and lower screws that secure the upper hinge close out cover and once done, swing the cover back into the hinge pillar so it is out of the way.  You will be able to see the spring, one end might be attached, or it could have fallen down to the bottom.  You have to place the spring into the eyelet and I think I did the out board one first and then with needle nose vise grips attached, stretched the spring over the in board lug into the groove.  It took several attempts to do it as I recall.
